Virte Solar Roof
Virte Solar Roof is a combination of a metal sheet roof and the CIGS thin film cells. The metal sheet roof can be, for example, a standing seam roof. The CIGS solar film cells represent the latest in solar energy technology. They are thin, efficient, light and flexible. They can be bonded to the new roof already at the factory and thus significantly reduce the system installation costs. Retrofitting thin-film panels on an existing roof is possible. Lightweight panels are easy to transport and handle. Bonded onto a steel sheet roof, thin-film solar panels comprise a harmonious entity with the roof. Compared to conventional technologies, several benefits are attained: there is no increase in wind load stress, no hindrance to roof maintenance, no accumulation of debris below the panels, and no increase in corrosive stress.
